Chocolate Chip Butter Cookies

It's been raining in Chennai for the past few days and i know exactly what that calls for, a hot cup of coffee with warm biscuits. They are simple and hardly take time to bake which allows you to enjoy the weather outside. I love my cookies chewy and bake it for a minute or two less - yumm!!

What i used:
2 cups flour
flat half teaspoon salt
200 grms soft butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
50 grams powdered sugar

How i made it:
1. sift the flour and sugar together in a bowl. sprinkle the salt and mix with a fork.
2. Rub in the butter and vanilla and kneed until it forms a ball.
3. Refrigerate the dough for about half an hour. This is an important step.
4. After it gets cool roll it out and cut with a cookie cutter or just make flat round shapes.

5. Grease the backing tray with butter .I do feel that an extra greasing adds more butteriness.
6. Bake the cookies for about 9- 10 min (8 if you want it chewy)
7. You could sprinkle the cookie dough with some chocolate chips like i did.
