Chocolate Blackberry toast

A few months ago when I visited my sister in Pune, i was introduced to a chocolaty plate of, well chocolate toast.Sold midst other wonderful foods like the 'over the top' sweet chocolate pan, the chocolate toast was a glorious thick chocolate filled sandwich drizzled with chocolate sauce and coated with chocolate shavings.Without any surprise its after effect is an uncontrollable sugar rush. One thing's clear,Pune is not running out of any chocolate. Pune's street food could be described as a wonderful distraction for those shoppers who spend their entire day bargaining on the streets of F.C road (the place of origin of the chocolate toast), but to me it was food paradise when compared to the ironically dry pani puris of Chennai. Undoubtedly Pune's street food did inspire me to create the less (in comparative) sweeter version of the chocolate toast which is filled with blackberry jam instead of chocolate. The jam was bought from Dorabjee, a big departmental store in Pune which lead my incoherent mind in believing that Chennai was deprived of that brand of jam.Either way the sandwich is rich and chocolaty and can satisfy anyone's sweet tooth.

1 spoon Blackberry jam (i used Hartley's jam)
2 slices of bread
1 bar of chocolate (roughly 30-40 grams)
2 teaspoons butter
White chocolate shavings (optional)
Directions:
1. Make a blackberry jam sandwich with the jam and the slices of bread.
2. Melt the butter on a hot pan and fry the sandwich for about 30 seconds on each side.
3. Quickly break the chocolate bar into pieces and strew generously over the hot sandwich waiting for it to melt.To melt the chocolate faster cover the sandwich with the hot pan turned upside down.Once the chocolate melts spread it with the back of a spoon.
4. Sprinkle with white chocolate and serve.
